Jennifer Pictou, bead artist and Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Aroostook Band of Micmacs, in front of the Mi'kmaq Veterans Honor Wall at the Micmac Cultural Center, Presque Isle. Ms. Pictou worked on research and grant-writing for four years to bring the Honor Wall to life. It is the first formal list of Mi’kmaq veterans and has evolved to include an oral history component. Ms. Pictou is the owner of Bar Harbor Ghost Tours, and has served as Curator of Education at the Abbe Museum and as Executive Director of the Bangor Museum and Center for History.
