Valley Cove, Southwest Harbor, Maine

The only way to reach Valley Cove is to climb over Flying Mountain. Tall stands of mature spruce carpeted with thick moss make it a pretty hike, and looking down from the top we watched fog blowing into Somes Sound from the ocean.

Blue Mussel (Mytilus edulis), pine cone (Pinus sp.), Common Periwinkle (Littorina littorea), fishing rope, feathers, Knotted Wrack (Ascophyllum nodosum), Common Periwinkle (Littorina littorea), Smooth Periwinkle (Littorina obtusata), driftwood.
